Tarik Mendes is a Brazilian multidisciplinary artist whose work examines the relationship between painting, sculpture, and architectural space. Employing layered net and screen based materials, he constructs works that dissolve the boundaries between image and object, replacing the traditional picture plane with permeable, spatial structures. His practice is defined by a sustained investigation of materiality, transparency, and perception, resulting in works that continuously shift in response to light, movement, and the viewer’s position. Mendes’s work has been exhibited internationally and is held in private collections across multiple countries. He is based in New York City.
Tom Prinsell is a prolific young artist out of New Jersey with a passion to blur the line between weird and normal and bridge the gap between exotic and ordinary. His paintings explore the mundane experiences of postmodern suburban and urban life. Using flat, vibrant colors, stilted portrayals of privileged discomfort provoke the viewer to regard their own elusive anomy. He has shown in multiple galleries and venues throughout North Jersey and Brooklyn. He is also the children’s collateral artist and muralist at the Knickerbocker Hotel in Times Square.
Giorgia Rojas Monaco was born in Rome, Italy in 1985. As a child, she showed a strong passion for drawing. After studying medicine for two years in college, Giorgia decided to change paths and enrolled in the Academy of Fine Arts in Rome. She moved to New York City in 2011 and continues to live and work there today. This complete immersion into American culture coupled with her naturally curious disposition pushed Giorgia to delve into a series of diverse artistic projects. She began working under the New York- based Italian architect and designer Gaetano Pesce and thus had the opportunity to experiment with a variety new materials and techniques. In addition to her fine art practice, Giorgia is also active as a set designer and film director. Giorgia’s approach to painting is abstract, but her subjects are figurative – and her works often celebrate the female body. Her use of vibrant colors recalls the palette of expressionist painters. Through her unique manipulation of color and depiction of the human figure, Giorgia creates paintings with erotic undertones. Giorgia has exhibited work in both solo and collective shows throughout the United States, Italy, and Cuba.
Question Mark, a street artist based in New York City whose identity remains unknown. He rose to prominence by mixing street art and contemporary art.He makes different textures without using mixed media, just by simply altering motion of the paint brush. Inspired by progression, he believes in evolving like a timeline and expand his artistic style by experimenting with and making various types of art.
Flavia Catao, makes mixed media paintings and drawings. An artist that experiments with various artistic styles to create pieces to tell a story or make statements. Her paintings are delicate and trance like leaving the observer with a sense of tranquility. Her work is mostly based on oil, acrylic, watercolor, pastels and even collage.
